Simple Self Defense empowers individuals, particularly women and girls, by offering a range of techniques, strategies and skills that they can use to defend themselves against many threats they may face at school, work or home. It doesn’t tell them that they must use a certain technique or they must fight a certain way – and, indeed, many of the techniques aren’t physical techniques at all. The book is based on two principles: to offer a variety of resources for getting out of a bad situation (without blaming her – someone else’s violence is not her fault), and to allow the individual defending herself to decide what is right for her to do under any particular set of circumstances.
