This four-week class includes all the information you need to understand how nonfiction book publishing works. The class covers the mechanics of book publishing (everything from what agents and editors do to what to expect once your book has been sold). You'll learn about publishing options (including self publishing and e-publishing), learning the market and building your platform. We'll get into the nitty-gritty of finding and working with agents, and developing pitch letters that will hook an agent.
Each Monday, a lesson will be emailed, outlining that week's information and assignment. Jennifer will provide detailed feedback on written assignments such as writing a pitch letter and developing a platform-building plan. She'll work with you to help you decide the best publishing options for your book and your book publishing career. This course is suitable for writers and aspiring writers at all stages of their career, but especially for those in the process of writing a book proposal who need to know how to make themselves and their work as attractive to agents and publishers as possible.
Jennifer is the author or co-author of more than 25 published nonfiction books. She has written for small presses (Wish Publishing), medium-size publishing companies (McGraw-Hill) and huge media conglomerates (Penguin Putnam). She has written everything from how-to to reference to self help. She's helped many writers break into publishing, and her e-course can help you do the same.
