Jennifer Lawler is the author or co-author of more than 30 nonfiction books and novels. Her books include the award-winning Dojo Wisdom series, which includes Dojo Wisdom for Writers (Penguin Compass).
She has written for magazines as diverse as Family Circle, Entrepreneur, and Cooking Light, mostly on issues of empowerment and personal growth. She has also written about writers’ concerns for The Writer, Writer’s Digest, American Writer and others. She is the former editor of ATA World magazine, the quarterly periodical of the American Taekwondo Association.
She is a former college English teacher, but try not to hold that against her. She has taught many writing workshops throughout the country at writers’ conferences and workshops and via online courses. She also coaches writers and gives motivational speeches. She earned her Ph.D in medieval literature from the University of Kansas and can still translate Old English if she tries hard enough.
