I’ve been discussing with an author reviewing her query letter and she has now asked me for a ‘sample query letter’ – I was wondering how you would go about it and if that it is something you would normally provide, when asked. As I don’t have one readily available, would there be somewhere I could find query letters to use (and make my own edits) or would you advise I just write one myself and edit it, perhaps? Thanks for your suggestions!
I have query letters available because I’ve written them over the years. If you don’t have one, here’s a great resource: https://www.janefriedman.com/query-letters/
You can, in addition, make one up and show edits as a way to give the author an example of what you would do.
