On taking a day off

Today, I am at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival where Jessica and I will watch jousting and she will find it incomprehensible. We will listen to music and eat something deep fried, and wander about Canterbury under the waning summer sun.

We have a favorite spot where we listen to the mandolin player, and a favorite bench where we eat lunch, and a favorite artist from whom Jessica will buy a souvenir. We may discover something new, but it’s all right if we don’t. Sometimes the best adventures are like old friends.
